If you couldn't tell by the photos above, we went to the Skagit Valley Tulip Festival today. Laura says there are more tulips in Skagit Valley than in Holland. We had lunch at the Kiwanis salmon barbecue. "Grilled salmon feed" probably would have been a better name. No menu, just a plate of grilled salmon, bread, and coleslaw. There was also a baked potato that we had to wait for because they ran out. Nothing quite hits the spot like a baked spud with no toppings. Oh, there was a pat of butter. I even got two pats of butter because I made the major faux pas of using my first one on the bread. What was I thinking? Save the butter for the potato! I'll remember that next time. And styrofoam cups of pink lemonade, decaf coffee (only, no real coffee) and ice cream. I'm making fun of it but it was much better than going to McDonald's or Denny's.
Christian is now sort of crawling, but not really in the traditional sense. He sort of finds his way around with a combination of rolling, army crawling, and falling. If you turn your head just for a minute you will see him in a different spot. He pulled up to standing just a couple days ago, which soon gave way to his first head bump on the coffee table. He cried a little and had a bump.
He is now also waving and saying "bye." The wave is actually a little closer to when you clap with one hand, and never at quite the right time, (last night it was after our company left.) And his "bye" is actually "bah" and we're probably using our imagination a little even at that. And if you say "bye" near him, he'll then do his version of the wave. So he's getting it. A little.

Cute little guy. Sounds like he's making good progress. Danielle isn't crawling yet either, but seems to enjoy standing while holding herself up on sofas or tables.
Next year we should meet up and go to the tulips. As you may have seen on our blog we just went last weekend.
Hope all is well.

Beautiful family, ofcourse. I miss you guys. Hope to see you soon.
