Here are some new photos of the "big man on campus." Things have been pretty quiet around here since the holidays. It's been a month since I've updated this blog but you haven't missed much. We've been racking our brains trying to figure out ways to get Christian outside during the bleak winter here. It's usually been either Children's Museum or zoo, but today we had a different idea. We took him to the sculpture gardens downtown. Above you can see him playing in this weird sculpture that was a little like a hanging papasan chair and a little like one of those hamster balls.

Christian now understands sentences and questions, like "Go over there" or "Do you want to...?". He also adds several words a day to his repertoire. Below in the video he sort of counts but the only number he really knows is "nine". This is because I will do bench presses with him and will always hold on nine, and say it really loud. He seems to recognize that it comes after eight but he also sometimes says it after 2 or 3.
