It never snows in Seattle

Christian and Santa
We made what was probably a dumb decision to go out this evening in the snow you see above to go see Santa. We kept getting turned away for various reasons, (once Santa walked out of the small house, alone, and walked up to me holding Christian and said "I've gotta take a break. I've been sitting there for four hours.") I was almost sympathetic but look at that chair! And of course Christian said "Where is he going?" so I had to explain that even Santa takes bathroom breaks. Christian was really mad when we decided to go home without seeing Santa because it was naptime but since we were a little afraid we might get snowed in later we headed out again in the evening for another go. We were rewarded by the fact that the camera broke while he was getting his picture taken so while they repaired it, Santa read to him from a book about reindeer. He loved this, and it was all he could talk about on the ride home. It was actually quite cute and of course I forgot my own camera to capture that moment but I will never forget it.
The snow here is crazy and is still falling. And since Seattle has so few snowplows it'll be a while before we dig our way out of this one. We've actually had two big snowfalls. During the first we took Christian out for a bit and he had fun running in the snow that nobody had walked or driven in yet. I was freezing my butt off but he wanted to keep playing.
Also above is a pic from our trip to Missouri over Thanksgiving and Christian got to play with his Henningsen cousins. He cried when they left. I think he was loving the attention.
