February was a bittersweet month for us. Immediately following President's Day, Laura, Christian and I took a pre-planned trip to Tulsa to see my folks. Unfortunately, Dad was ill and was in the hospital for part of the stay. He recovered a little bit later in the week and was able to spend some time with us at home, but was bedridden most of the time. However, undaunted, Christian would run back in to Dad's bedroom where he was sitting on the edge of the bed, laugh and smile at Dad, and then coyly run back out. A couple times he ventured in further to exchange high five's or to show off his toy. Dad talked about this exchange for several days after we left.
Sadly, on February 28th, just a few days after we left, Dad passed away. He led a great life and was loved by many but it's still sad to lose him. The happy twinkle in his eyes lives on in all our hearts who remember him. We will miss you Dad!

He'd really appreciate donations to either the Sand Springs Museum, www.sandspringsmuseum.org or to Saint Patrick Catholic Church, www.stpatrick-sandsprings.org.
